Do I need the Cusco Tourist Ticket for this tour?

Yes. To visit Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay you must purchase the Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTC). You can buy the partial ticket (valid for 1 day) or the general ticket (valid for 10 days and includes other attractions in Cusco and the Sacred Valley).

Is the tour suitable for all ages?

Yes. The City Tour is considered easy level, with short walks at each site. It is suitable for families, children, and older travelers. However, due to Cusco’s altitude (3,400 m / 11,150 ft), we recommend taking it easy on your first day and drinking plenty of water.

What should I bring to the City Tour?

We recommend bringing: Local currency for entrance fees and personal expenses. Comfortable walking shoes. A light jacket or sweater (the weather changes quickly in Cusco). Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Bottled water.

Hotel Pick-Up

We start the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco’s downtown. A professional bilingual guide will accompany you throughout the journey.

Main Square & Cusco Cathedral

The adventure begins at the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), the heart of the city, where you’ll admire its colonial arcades and the Cusco Cathedral, a masterpiece of baroque art and home to priceless works of the Cusco School of Painting.

3 :

Qoricancha – Temple of the Sun

We continue to the Qoricancha, the most important Inca temple dedicated to the Sun. Its fine stonework demonstrates the Inca’s advanced engineering, later transformed into the Convent of Santo Domingo by the Spanish.

4 :

Sacsayhuamán Fortress

Next, we visit Sacsayhuamán, an immense ceremonial fortress overlooking Cusco. Its megalithic walls, built with gigantic stones perfectly joined without mortar, are one of the greatest achievements of Inca architecture.

Qenqo

A short drive takes us to Qenqo, a sacred place carved in limestone rock, used for rituals, sacrifices, and astronomical purposes. Its labyrinthine tunnels and carved altar preserve a mystical aura.

6 :

Puka Pukara

We then visit Puka Pukara, known as the “Red Fortress” due to the color its stones take at sunset. It is believed to have been a military post and a resting place for travelers.

7 :

Tambomachay

The last stop is Tambomachay, also called the “Bath of the Inca.” Its aqueducts and fountains, still running with crystal-clear water, are thought to have been used for water rituals and royal leisure.

8 :

Return to Cusco

We return to the city, finishing the tour at the Main Square around 13:30 (morning schedule) or 18:00 (afternoon schedule).
